Safe Harbour

This picture may resonate deeply with you however it doesn't have to be this way. No matter how much you have happening in your life.

As a mum of 4 who has had to dance with children with disabilities and special needs, chronic illness and a myriad of sometimes crazy circumstances, I understand the complexities that life brings. And I completely understand how easy it is to slip into overwhelm when life is being relentless.

I used to struggle to find my equilibrium in amongst the chaos of merely surviving which is how I felt I was living at times. I can honestly say I don't feel that way anymore. I am no longer simply surviving.

I have tough days and sometimes tough weeks, however, I am the captain of my mind and steer it to calmer waters when life's waves are coming in thick and fast.

Mindfulness is a gift I will be forever grateful for. Without mindfulness I would not have had the space to discover self-compassion in its fullness.

Mindful self-compassion is an expansive oasis where I am able to find safe harbour from the storms of life and the battering from the deceptive winds of self-doubt and judgement. It clears and calms the waters so I am able to see my true reflection.

Mindfulness is not an overnight or an easy fix. It is discipline and choice daily. Self-compassion is courageous work and sometimes confronting. It is an honest internal yet liberating voyage of self-discovery.

I invite you to come along.
