Counselling and Support for Women

Overview

As women living in a world where so much value is placed on how busy we are, how we look, success & material possession, it is important we remember our innate value, worthiness and wholeness. It can be easy to lose sight of this when we are focused on tending to our families, friends, co-workers and community. When was the last time you prioritised yourself?

As women, we have so much to give. We are inherently the nurturers and healers, community connectors and safe havens for our families and community but too often we give all to those around us without prioritising our own needs, boundaries, dreams, and happiness.

This leaves us feeling overwhelmed, undervalued and struggling to find a place of ease or contentment in our lives.

What if your inner voice spoke with kindness and compassion instead of anxiety and criticism?

Imagine stepping into who you were born to be, accepting and embracing your value, your power, your wholeness and wellbeing?

Often times women who have a history of trauma find this almost impossible.

I am passionate about understanding the neurobiology of trauma and how it shapes and affects the mind, body and soul and using that knowledge to provide a safe healing space for women.

Do you believe you are:

Worthy of having your needs met.
Worthy of being seen, heard, honoured, and understood.
Worthy of loving, compassionate, safe, soul-enriching connections.
Worthy to be your own person apart from societies expectations & family obligations, free to thrive and live with peace and ease.

If not let me help you!

When women and mothers feel supported, nurtured and fulfilled, everyone benefits.

Mindful Mums

As parents, we are often multitasking & stretched in so many directions.

We often find ourselves unable to clear our minds and unwind.

And we find ourselves reacting to situations and people including our children

in ways that we may regret.

Research has shown that multitasking actually switches on our stress response.

Living with constant stress and overwhelm affects so many areas of our life

including our health and how we parent our children.

Mindfulness improves our brain function and wellbeing. It increases our stress threshold and improves resilience, Increases positive thinking, feelings, and emotions & improves our working memory. It allows us the space to respond rather than react.

If you are a new mum and struggling with postpartum depression or need some extra TLC I am able to come to your home and deliver individual sessions with you. It's not uncommon for new mothers to feel overwhelmed as they adapt to the myriad of changes that becoming a mother requires.

You might be struggling to come to terms with your birth experience, confused by all the well-meaning advice about babies & breastfeeding, nappies, and settling techniques, or just overwhelmed by the love and protective instincts you are feeling towards your baby.

A mindful practice can really make a difference in this precious phase. Not only can it ease any stress, strain and overwhelm you may be feeling, it can also build your attachment, and build in a greater joy and a sense of wellbeing.
